Emergency Financial Assistance
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Rockdale Emergency Relief provides financial assistance to residents of Rockdale County. Our goal is to help maintain housing stability and provide utility assistance. At the present time, our Financial Assistance Program is generally limited to households who have not received emergency financial assistance from RER before.
NOTE: Program depends on funding availability which varies seasonally.

Requirements:
- Must be a Rockdale County resident for at least 6 months for utility assistance and 12 months for rental assistance
- Service cannot be disconnected
- Driver’s License with Rockdale address that matches the bill address
- Most recent bill that matches license address with any past due or disconnection notices
- No late or administration fees will be paid
- Assistance is only offered for one month past due
- Must provide proof of income
- Must provide proof of hardship
- All documentation must be sent as a .PDF
*** Proof of hardship: The reason a client is unable to pay their utility bill for the month. This can be job loss, injury or illness, car repair, and unexpected expense. We require the following documentation: separation notice, receipt for repairs, and medical bills.
